Keep working with everything you unlocked. Renew for more updates if you want them, or carry on without another payment.
Canceling renewal never takes away what you bought. Your unlocked features and access to your data do not expire with your update period.
A few things worth making clear
Can I use Notere commercially?
Commercial use requires a separate commercial license. The lifetime-updates and year-of-updates options described on this page are personal licenses.
Is this a subscription?
Only if you want automatic renewal for updates. You pay for software you can keep using. An optional subscription renews your update period; it is never required to keep using the features you already unlocked or to access your notes.
What happens when I stop paying?
You keep using Notere with every feature you unlocked, including those added during your paid update period. After that period ends, later updates require a new purchase. There is no renewal required to continue using what you already have.
Can I renew later?
Yes. You can keep using your unlocked features and choose to buy another year of updates when you want what’s new. Keeping a subscription running is optional.
Does the early-access license become yearly after launch?
No. If you buy the lifetime-updates license during early access, you keep lifetime updates after early access ends. The year-of-updates license is for purchases made after early access.
Will my notes ever be held behind a payment?
No. Notere never locks access to your data because you stop paying. Your notes are plain Markdown files in storage you control, and you can open them with other tools, too. Your data belongs to you, whether or not you buy a license.
